Photography Poses Guide
Photography Poses Guide
I just finished reading Posing Secrets by Malcolm Boone while looking for a good photography poses guide to review. As a photographer with very little experience with shooting images of people, I found it to be a very informative guide.
Right off the bat I enjoyed and benefited from the advice of viewing the model as a silhouette. The helpful illustrations of silhouettes only further enhanced this learning model. I do think it would have been helpful to include a few actual photographs of posed models in the mix, but it is still a very helpful guide. I also would have liked to see some information on posing male models, as it is clearly a guide for posing female models.
If you would like a technical, but easy to understand guide for posing female models, then Posing Secrets is a great book for you.
I have stated in a few past posts on this site that I prefer to be a solitary photographer and not work with models or shoot events. However, this site isn’t all about me! I hope to present as much variety as possible within the realm of photography. Also, you never know when some learned tidbit of knowledge will come in handy.
