Newborn Photo Ideas

Every new mom wants to have that jaw dropping photo of their precious newborn.  The one you can frame and proudly display like a piece of art.  That photo that can be gifted to family and friends. Because what is better than a personalized photo gift of your beautiful newborn?

We have all seen these photos, Anne Geddes became famous for her inspiring newborn photos, photo studios have specialists for them, and entire coffee table books are dedicated to them.  But if you are anything like me, you start the process of taking them at home and they turn out nothing like the professional ones I see online.  Either I have used the wrong props, or the lighting is wrong, or I just don’t know what to do with the props I have.  I end up running back and forth to my computer and where I have my husband watching the kids so I can Google pictures for inspiration.  Well today I am going to share with you some of the best newborn photos I have seen online and that I use for inspiration.

First it is all about the props – take a look at these photos with everyday around the house props used for some adorable photos:

• Baskets

Next it is all about the location – If you have the ability to take your pictures in various locations throughout your home and outside, you should.  Between the differences in the lighting and the textures each picture set will turn out differently.  I tell people all the time, look around and find how to take a photo in an unusual way.  It may work it may not, but if it does, it could be that shot that takes your breathe away.
