Christmas Photos – 20 Favorites from Flickr

I probably won’t be able to post for a few days due to Christmas.  It is currently 2:24 am on Christmas eve!  Yes, I am a serious insomniac.  I used to be rather bah humbug about the holidays, but with a 3 year old and 1 year old I’m feeling rather cheery about all of it this year.  There is nothing like the innocence and wonderment of a small child. So forgive me for being a bit sappy (and perhaps too in love with bokeh) with this post. All this cheer has really taken off my edges.

Photos of Walls – Favorites from Flickr

Walls keep us in and others out.  Sometimes they protect us and sometimes they give us privacy.  Personally, I can get a bit too reliant on my walls and get way too comfy in my reclusive rut.  It’s just easier that way most of the time.  I guess the trick to health is finding the perfect balance between honoring legitimate introverted alone time, and stepping out from behind the walls both literally and figuratively.

Photos of Sick People and So Forth

Ya know, there is definitely now a light at the end of the tunnel.  I am about 3/4 of the way done with getting all of the photos plugged back into Photoluminary, and I am no longer lamenting over so much lost work.

It’s Taking a Long Time to Replace All These Images

This is something of an “unofficial” post but it felt like it was time to update the site.  During the recent hacking/accidentally erasing my entire site debacle I lost damn near every single image in the site!  That’s right, I flippin erased them while trying to get rid of the hack all by myself.  Just use your backup you say?  I’m an idiot.  I hadn’t made one since February of 2011!  I assumed all this time that my host was doing it for me.  I have a lot to learn…the hard way.

Consciousness, Universe and Everything

This post reflects the personal spiritual Renaissance I’m experiencing right now.  I hesitate to use the word God since it can ruffle so many feathers but “God Consciousness” is the best I can do.

Topaz B&W Effects Review – Truly Amazing

I’m not sure if there is photography software that I like as much as the Topaz Labs bundle.  Well, besides my forever “can’t live without” it Photoshop of course!  I saw a picture of a girl with a Photoshop toolbar tattooed on her forearm the other day and instantly got it.  But I digress. Topaz B&W Effects is truly amazing. Interesting Portraits from Flickr

I’ve got faces on the brain tonight!  I usually don’t like portraits that are too contrived, although there is the occasional exception.  I don’t know…I like what I like and I know it when I see it.  I’m such a shut in taking care of my babies these days so most of my photography time involves admiring other people’s photography! I hope you enjoy these interesting portraits as much as I do. Read More
