Urban Landscape Photography

While I don’t shoot a lot of urban landscape photography myself, I hope to someday do so.

Currently I live in a rural area and have to drive for about forty five minutes to an hour in any direction to get to a “normal sized city”. Most of my shopping and so forth is done in Napa, which to be honest doesn’t offer up a lot of interesting photographic opportunity. Not to me anyway. Then there is Santa Rosa, which takes about an hour of driving.  While large, most of Santa Rosa is nothing but suburban sprawl, and again not interesting to me.

I do envy those who live in busy urban areas for the fact that they always have something to do, and for the tremendous photographic opportunities available.  Don’t get me wrong, I love nature and would rather live in view of it, but it sure would be nice to have more human diversity and an interesting urban landscape to look at as well.  The Napa Valley just doesn’t suit people like myself culturally!  It’s a great place to live if you love wine and vapid pretentious banter however.

Anyway, I guess I’m getting more comfortable just “letting my hair down” a bit in my blog, as evidenced by my rambling.  This is basically how I start any new relationship actually, reserved and guarded at first, then gradually more transparent.  I’m really quite odd on the inside in some ways, and wouldn’t want to scare anybody off with what I’m really thinking.

So, I guess I should just get on with it!
